During lunch today, Mrs. Martos finally respunded to us with a go-ahead for the storage shelf idea, so we started working. During 5th period, I pressed my longboard. I decided to make my lonagboard completely flat again because it would simplify the process of mounting the hinges and such later on down the line. Afterwards, I helped another student press his longboard as well.
Today Keilah went to OSH and bought the 2 by 4s for the storage shelf. During the period, we started marking and cutting the wood for the smaller, metal storage storage unit. The table saw was having some issues, so we had to stop halfway through the period.
Today we had our final Wednesday Challenge before the final. The object of the challenge was to form pairs and make a box our of PVC. One person would be blindfolded, and would actually building the box, and the other person would be directing the blindfolded person. We were pretty close to finishing the box, but we ran out of time.
Wednesday Challenge 13: Blindfolded Tinker ToysToday I worked on my longboard while helping Keilah and Erin cut the 2 by 4s for the storage unit. I cut out the entire longboard blank, and even managed to get basically all of the sanding done.
Today I worked mainly on the storage shelf with Erin and Keilah because Michael was using the truck hole template for the entire period. We managed to cut out every 2 by 4 piece for the smaller storage unit save two 3' 1" pieces, and are planning to salvage 1/2" plywood from all of the plywood sheets that Erin and I dumpster dived for. In addition, Keilah and I are planningnto go to OSH on Monday during lunch to get a box or 2 of screws for the build.
